The United Kingdom submitted to the European Council on 29 March 2017 notification of its intention to leave the Union in accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. The United Kingdom will therefore leave the EU on 29 March 2019, exactly two years after the said notification, and from 30 March 2019 all Union laws will no longer apply to the United Kingdom, a "third country" (non-EU country).
