Raw Materials
Agrepor Agregados
Extração de Inertes, S.A.
AGREPOR was formed in 2001 as a result of the merger of 7 companies of the CIMPOR group.
Of this merger, besides the superior capacity of production of 6 million tons a year, it also resulted a variety in terms of:
- Geography, covering almost all of the Portuguese territory;
- Treated raw materials (granites, limestones and dolomite)
- Investment policy;
- Clients (from big concrete national producers and road constructors and other public works to private works);
- Experience acquired (although the first group’s acquisition in this area is from 1988, the most ancient quarry has more than 50 years);
Soon Agrepor S.A. has given up the idea of kipping her own fleet of road transportation, deciding to rent, gaining this way a higher response and flexibility capability.
In 2004, keeping its expansion policy Agrepor S.A. has acquired one quarry in the Fundão area, in 2005 two quarries in the Lisbon area, in 2008 one quarry in Fornos de Algodres and in 2010 one quarry in Sesimbra, remaining nowadays with 9 active quariers, from which results a capacity of an annual production of about 10 million tons.
In September 2016, Agrepor has passed its certification to the ISO 9001:2015 and it is certified by the production control in factory with the certification 0866-CPR-2004/CE.20 for the following issues:
EN 12620:2002 + A1:2008 – Aggregates for concrete;
EN 13043:2002 + EN 13043:2002/AC: 2004 – Aggregates to bituminous mixtures and superficial treatments for roads, airports and other circulation areas;
EN 13242:2002 + A1:2007 – Aggregates for materials not connected or treated with hydraulic binders used in civil engeneering works and in the road construction;
EN 13383-1:2002 + EN 13383-1:2002/AC: 2004 – Concrete blocks. Part 1: Specifications;
EN 13450:2002 + EN 13450:2002/AC: 2004 – Aggregates for ballasts of railway tracks.
